More Strong Security and Reliable Local Connectivity
End-to-end encryption combined with access rights management makes the protection of user privacy more stringent. Localized linkage control brings a faster response, even if the network is disconnected, SONOFF matter devices can be still controllable, with faster responsiveness and better reliability.

Stonger Compatibility, More Interoperability
Alexa, Apple HomeKit( also known as Apple Home), and Google Home Apps can be used to control SONOFF matter devices at the same time, and all Matter-certified devices can work together, no matter which brand they are, to build home automation.

More Simplicity, More Ease
Simply scan the provided QR code with your Matter-Compatible App and SONOFF Matter device will be automatically configured to your home network.

Matter Devices
What do I need to use Matter devices?
In Matter, there are a few important concepts that make up the onboarding and control of a device.

Matter Controller (Matter Hub)
Matter Controller(or Matter Hub) is a central device controller connecting and controlling Matter-enabled APP and Matter devices, so your smart home is more responsive and reliable. It can be built into other devices, or even simply be a smartphone app. *Matter Hub and Matter-enabled APP need to correspond. For example, adding Matter device to Alexa App requires a Matter hub device corresponding to Alexa…

Matter Bridge
A Matter bridge is a device that can bring non-Matter products into the Matter ecosystem. It acts as an intermediary between Matter and non-Matter devices. You can synchronize various devices within Matter bridge to platforms such as Alexa, Google Home, Apple, and others using the Matter bridge.
SONOFF iHost smart home hub supports Matter as a Matter Bridge connected with Matter Hub via standard Matter protocol. So, you can seamlessly add SONOFF iHost-managed devices, including iHost-bridged Zigbee devices & synced devices from other add-ons, into the Matter-supported platforms from industry giant companies like Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung SmartThings, etc. so you can control, view, set automation, and interact with many other smart home devices across the Brands.

Matter Devices
Matter devices can be used in multiple smart home platforms (Google Home, Apple Home, Alexa, and more) at the same time, your entire family can control your home through their preferred voice assistant or app, this means less time choosing and setting up devices, and more time exploring features and enjoying your smart home.

FAQ
1: What is Matter?
Matter is a smart home standard jointly initiated by Amazon, Apple, Google, and SmartThings aims to connect different smart home ecosystems together to make different brands’ devices work seamlessly together, making device use easier.
Learn more about Matter protocol: https://csa-iot.org/all-solutions/matter/
2: How does Matter work?
The Matter is based on the IP protocol and supports Thread, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Matter-certified devices need to use at least one of the above network protocols.
3: What are the benefits of using Matter for smart home devices?
Using Matter for smart home devices allows for increased interoperability, better security, and easier setup, and management of devices.
4: What is a Matter controller?
Matter controllers allow you to connect and control Matter-certified devices. For example, to use Alexa to control your Matter-enabled devices, you’ll need a compatible Echo device and the Alexa app.
5: Do we need a new APP to control Matter-certified devices?
No need to download another “Matter” App. You can still use Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit (also known as Apple Home), Google Home, and eWeLink App.
6: How do I know if a smart device supports Matter?
The packaging or device body of all new Matter-compatible products will carry the new Matter “brand” (three arrows with bowheads pointing inward). To find out if your existing smart home device supports Matter, you can search the CSA-certified products search webpage, link: https://csa-iot.org/csa-iot_products/?p_type=14#products. First, scroll down to “Program Type” and check the “Subject” box. You can then search by keyword or filter the results by device or company type.
7: Why I can't find a device in the Alexa App after pairing a Matter-certified device with the Alexa ecosystem successfully?
Alexa will generate the default name according to device type, take MINIR4M for an example, the first MINIR4M paired with Alexa will be automatically named the first plug, and so on.
8: What if the Matter Hub paired with a Matter-certified device is Offline/Unbound from the local network?
If your matter controller is disconnected from the local network, the connected Matter-certified devices cannot be controlled. Your Matter Compatible Devices will reconnect to your controller automatically once it has reconnected to the network.
If an ecosystems controller is unbound from the local network, the Matter-certified devices will be removed from the corresponding ecosystem, but this will not affect the use of the device in other ecosystems connected to a separate controller.
9: What if a Matter-certified device unbinds from the paired ecosystem?
If a Matter-certified device unbinds from a single ecosystem, the Matter-certified device can still be controlled in other paired ecosystems.
If the Matter-certified device unbinds from all the ecosystems and controllers, the device will need to be reset to enable the Bluetooth connection necessary for Matter onboarding.
10: Does Matter work with Apple HomeKit?
Matter support in iOS 16 – Apple Home – Apple Developer
Using Matter with Apple HomeTo use a Matter accessory with the Apple Home ecosystem, users can add the accessory via the Home app, or any HomeKit-based app.
