SONOFF TX Ultimate Smart Touch Wall Switch

I purchased a bunch of this light switches and tried them with the standard firmware and also with ESPHome. I found that the touch panel is not as responsive at it should be regardless of the firmware. With ESPHome you can change the intensity and the colour of the night light, but this should be a feature in the standard firmware, as the intensity by default is pretty bright.

Each switch comes with 2 screws, but the heads are too big for the openings of the switches, making it very hard to install them.

Also, in a switch of this calibre, you'd expect a dimming functionality, but this is nowhere to be found regardless of the firmware you use.

Overall, this is an average light switch, and Sonoff is trying to sell it as a top tier device... Not even close... There's a long road to walk for Sonoff to make these switches as good as they say they are...

Migliorato il fissaggio a muro rispetto ai precedenti modelli, non è dimmerabile la luce notturna, ma la cosa pessima è che molte volte non riesci ad accendere la luce, non ha una sensibilità che, come lo tocchi accendi la luce, ma devi tenere il dito sulla placca quel secondo in più, qualche volta non risponde proprio, lo smontato e rimontato il vecchio TX che funziona benissimo.

The wall fixing has been improved compared to the previous models, the night light is not dimmable, but the bad thing is that many times you cannot turn on the light, it does not have a sensitivity that, as soon as you touch it, you turn on the light, but you have to hold your finger on the plate that extra second, sometimes it doesn't respond at all, I disassembled it and reassembled the old TX which works very well.

These switches are great! They work very well with big touch surfaces and the swipe function too. The gripes the I have are that you can’t set the backlight yourself to a personalised colour for the ambient light or even a personalised pattern. The other issue I have is the multi touch to turn the ambient on and of which can be annoying when trying to just turn the light on. Often this is too sensitive where you try to turn the light on when you have something in your hand and inadvertently switch the ambient light instead on the light itself. Other than these, I love the switches. I had issues or more so visitors had issues switching the old tx series switches.

No ability to set a custom color for the nightlight

The buttons should be exactly the same big size but physical (while ideally retaining the swipe functionality, ideally be a rocker type switch, or at the very least have the ability to configure the button spring tension).

There are constant situations when I carry something and cannot turn on/off the switch with the thing that I am carrying since it is not conducive, or I am unable to turn the switch on/off blindly when entering/leaving a room since I have to be pretty precise (especially with multi-gang switches).

But even without the color customization, if the switch were to be physical, it would have been an ideal thing, because without physical buttons my wife would never approve of replacing all switches in the house with these.

desde hace muchos años que utilizo Sonoff, hoy cambio las T1 por las T5 Ultimate, la verdad que estoy super conforme con el avance y principalmente la calidad que se da al tacto. Ojala sigan asi, porque soy Fans de esta marca. Veremos con el tiempo como se comporta!.

Very good switch. Works well, only problem is it needs an adapter to fit a two or three gang US electric box. Found one on Etsy and it works great!

It succeeded my expectations by far. It's robust, with excellent quality materials, it's super easy to use, and it accomplishes its main purpose.

The purchase was a great idea. They made my home more colorful and functional. I hope that future software updates of the switches will develop new features, such as the ability to increase or decrease the intensity of the ambient light, and to select different ambient lights in the scenes based on the trigger.
