SONOFF ZBDongle-E is a universal Zigbee USB stick. It can be used as a Zigbee gateway in Home Assistant, openHAB, Zigbee2MQTT, or other open-source platforms to locally control all your Zigbee devices, so you don't need to invest in different brands' Zigbee hubs, all you need is a universal gateway - ZBDongle-E!

The dongle plus has a wide range of supported devices, such as ZBMINI-L, SNZB01, SNZB02, SNZB03, SNZB04, S26R2ZB, S40 LITE ZB. Dongle Plus is pre-flashed with coordinator firmware, you can also flash router firmware to extend the network range.

Dongle Plus support a variety of common systems, like Linux, Ubuntu, Raspbian, Windows, macOS (Windows and macOS require corresponding driver installation).

Raspberry Pi (Linux) is recommended, if you use Windows or macOS, you need to install Driver first.

Fantastic value, works great with Home Assistant

Despite criticisms for Zigbee dropouts, in my small unit Zigbee outperforms and is far more reliable than WiFi or Bluetooth for my very small setup. Your experience will vary, but for casual and starting off users Zigbee via the
Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus–ZBDongle-E is an excellent experience; even if I am likely to migrate to Z-Wave in the future.

Works great!

I actually had meant to order a different version of this for Home Assistant, but this one works just as well. I've had no problems with it at all. A little bit of a wait time after ordering compared to Amazon, but it was worth the wait.

Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus--ZBDongle-E works as expected, straight forward setup. Didnt need to use a mesh network, it has good range, just used point to point for all of my devices.

Sonoff Zigbee Dongle if the best dongle for Home Assistant or custom softwre development. I recommend Dongle E cause it's possibility to receive firmware upgrades over USB port, opposed to Dongle-P that requires a Texas Instruments debugger kit
