This is a WiFi Smart Switch with the DIY capability that makes it possible to control connected devices via the eWeLink directly from your phone, or ask it to turn on/off devices with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Amazingly, it has a DIY mode that is the firmware can be user-defined. Brilliant device to control zone valves in central heating.

I’ve used these sonoff basic device for several years flawlessly to control my heating zone valves. Saves wiring and the need for a programmer.
I wired my pump and boiler to the same sonoff basic device with two small radiators permanently in water circuit (bathroom and hall) to ensure an adequate flow in the event of a device malfunction.
In addition 3 zone valves control 2 heating zones and a hot water zone were enabled with their own dedicated sonoff basic.

I also control a number of house lights as well with inching enabled.

Very reliable devices. No no failures over several years ever!!!!!
Works seamlessly with Alexa too.

As a final thought one of the sonoff devices would make an excellent man down device if fitted to a buzzer or light.

Instructions for wiring the device is very small letters for this old guy. I went to wire it up but it has no instructions for my 2 wire system (old wiring) I got it to connect to wifi and the app but no way to get power to light. Will have to see if there is a work around.
